Excellent clinical dermatology atlas with great photographs , treatment, and wonderful organization by regions. I also love the disorders index on the very first page. I highly recommend this textbook that I find most useful and enjoyable. It is a MUST have !

I must admit that as an over optimistic resident going into my first year of residency, I read almost all of the derm forums to get a list of the best dermatology books to begin with and I was lost lost lost lost and overburdened with a list of so many resources! Bolognia, Andrew’s, Fitzpatrick, Rook’s and even Uptodate were some of the resources I was bombarded with. A minority mentioned that their program recommended Habif as a first reading before moving on to Bolognia but I never gave that possibility a second thought because it was as I said a minority of people who suggested it. Then I heard this recommendation again by one of my dermatology tutors whom I’ve come across online and I wasn’t so enthusiastic but I thought what would I lose, let me give it a try! and OMG once I started reading it, I found that it was written as though Habif was holding my hands and getting me through the derm diseases in a very logical, and elaborate way. Everything started making sense and I found myself thinking back to most of the patients I saw during my first few months of residency and connecting the dots with regards to some treatment decisions. The treatment sections are elaborate and GOLD. I have to say though that I had very minimal exposure to derm as a med student. This book is a must read in the first couple of weeks/ months of residency. Once I get done with it, I am moving to Bolognia.

This has to be one of the best Clinical Reference tools I have ever purchased.

This is an excellent book that has multiple graphics, great index and treatment modalities. The only downside is that it does not show different skin types as well.
