Description

Dermatology Made Easy 2e has been comprehensively updated but remains designed to help GPs, medical students and dermatologists diagnose skin conditions with confidence.
Diagnosis is simplified by providing a comprehensive set of tables which offer differentials by symptom, morphology, or body site – including over 500 thumbnail photos.
Once you have narrowed down the diagnosis, cross-references guide you to more detailed descriptions, and another 700 photographs, covering:

  • common infections
  • inflammatory rashes
  • non-inflammatory conditions
  • skin lesions

Every section provides consistent information on the disorder:

  • who gets it and what causes it?
  • what are the clinical features and does it cause any complications?
  • how do you diagnose it?
  • how do you treat it and how long does it take to resolve?

The book concludes with a comprehensive section on further investigations and treatment options.
Dermatology Made Easy is the ideal rapid clinical reference – guiding diagnosis, advising on clinical features and offering the best treatment options.

Finally a derm book that actually helps in clinic. The differential tables by body site save me so much time. Photos are incredible quality. Managed to diagnose a tricky wound infection last week that I’d been struggling with. Worth every penny.

  2. James K

We deal with skin complaints daily in community pharmacy and this has become my go-to. Well organized, easy to flip through while patient is in front of you. Can confidently advise on minor stuff and know when to refer. Use it literally every day.

  3. Priya R

Work in a non-teaching practice so I used to google my way through skin consults. This book changed everything. Pictures are spot on, terminology section at the start is super helpful for writing notes. Patients notice the difference in my confidence.

  4. Michael T

Love the diagnostic approach symptom to morphology to body site. Makes you think systematically instead of panicking. Cross-references between differential tables and detailed chapters are smooth. Only wish there was more on dermoscopy. Still 5 stars for value.

  5. Emily L

Best derm resource I’ve found. Bullet point format means you actually read it instead of giving up. Photos are from DermNet NZ so you know they’re legit. Terminology chapter at the start is clutch for OSCE prep. Passed my derm rotation with this.

  6. David W

The updated 2nd edition is even better. Treatment section at the back is practical — topical steroid potencies, monitoring guidelines for methotrexate, when to refer. Exactly what primary care needs. No fluff, just useful info.

  7. Aisha N

Have both editions and the update is noticeable. More photos, better organization. The ‘who gets it, what causes it, how to treat it, how long it takes’ format for each condition is perfect for quick reference. My clinic copy is already well-worn.
